does anyone watch American Idol? i usually never do but saw it last night b/c Dancing wasn't on until 8 instead of 7, blahblah, and it's kind of like a train wreck that you can't turn away from/bad karaoke. i won't even get into the fact that i've been singing for a while and am well versed in pop singing and every single fucking season it sounds like SHITTY KARAOKE so i never watch it (and wtf america, 8 seasons?! really??). ANYWAY. i saw it last night and read this on www.televisionwithoutpity.com and DIED LAUGHING:
"But here's the thing: when Amanda sings, I feel like I'm in a bar; when David Cook sings, I feel like I'm in a club; when Brooke sings, I feel like I'm in an amphitheater; when Jason sings, I feel like I'm in my dealer's living room; but when David Archuleta sings, I feel like I'm watching a high school talent show. Every time. And it's a performing arts high school for gifted kids, absolutely. And he's clearly the best in the talent show, and he'll totally win and deservedly so. But if you're asking me to list the places I'd pay to be, I'd rather see Amanda at the bar, David Cook at the club, Brooke at the concert hall, and Jason at my dealer's house than go to David A.'s talent show."

ps- Dancing is not that exciting this season b/c most of everyone sucks. :(

Cats are Essential for Human's Well-Being
look at this great quote i came across today: "Cats are more than just pets," said Naoki Yanase, a professor of English literature at Seijo University. "They radiate serenity and are essential for the well-being of humans."
yep! that also reminds me, thessaly is more likely a Japanese Bobtail cat than a Manx, because manx tails don't have a curve or kink in them and Thess's tail has a 90 degree right angle in it! (so cute). so, world, i now own a Ragdoll/Siamese and a Japanese Bobtail/possible Domestic Shorthair.
i am sure you are riveted by this new breakthrough.
anyway. in other news, i bought some things from itunes for the first time the other day, and .99 doesn't seem like a lot at first for a song but it adds up! jeez. i bought a few tori b-sides that have eluded me thus far so it was worth it, but still. i'm also trying to download music and such but haven't found anything that i really like! people! send me your suggestions!
so it's friday and i have some fun things going on today and not a lot else going on for the weekend. and i found out that most of my rec's were sent to grad school and Purdue sent me an email, "we'll let you know mid-February" which is SO exciting and i just want to move and go to school and paint my new apt and have fun with it! life! let's get on with it!

Merry Christmas and Holidays and new Year and Hannukah
the girls are fine and quickly recovering from surgery. i'm still sad to see their little tummies shaved (and the huge tattoo on their bellies that says they've been spayed) but i'm SO glad that's over! now, if i'm lucky, i won't have to take them to the vet or anything for at least another year! YAY!
speaking of, Thessaly turned 6 months earlier this week and Stell is 9 months now. Their bdays are guess work, so I'm putting Thess's at July 3rd and Stell's at April 3rd.
so last night, as i was watching the victoria's secret fashion show (just so i could see the spice girls, which wasn't as exciting as i had hoped) Seal and Heidi klum did a duet! it was so cute so i had to download it, it's called "wedding day" and it's adorable. i love you heidi! that reminds me, there's a new project runway tonight! if i'm good and get all my grad school things taken care of, i plan to watch the Americas next top model finale, the first episode of Crowned (a ridic new reality show that i'm sure i'll hate) and the latest PR before turning in. my life sure is exciting these days, hmm? :)
speaking of excitement, i can't wait for angel's christmas party this sunday! i love xmas parties. i haven't been out and about in a long time and i'm excited to see everyone. also, i'm visiting austin in 2 wkends and that shall be glorious. i'm bringing all the necessary tools to make my old Peach Pomegranate martinis! all you need is pomegranate vodka, peach schnapps, oj, and some cranberry juice. they are delicious and LETHAL and i cant wait! it's been too long since i've had a good old fashioned drunk night.
our company christmas party is this friday and it should be...fun? the food will be fantastic, and any and all of you readers are welcome to come. oh btw, it's at my house. so it's not like i can leave early...ah well.
